The 4th Istanbul Design Biennial was present at the 2018 Milan Design Week, with an aperitivo and preview on 19 April.

The event took place at ALCOVA, a new venue which opened during this year's Fuorisalone. On this occasion, Jan Boelen, curator of the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial, and Deniz Ova, Istanbul Design Biennial Director, presented an overview and some details of the biennial's programme and participants.

Z33, where Jan Boelen holds the position of artistic director, premiered its School of Time as a part of Milan Design Week. The installation consisted of two interactive displays developed by Commonplace Studio, Tim Knapen & Jesse Howard and Teis De Greve. The installation questions the conflicts and paradoxes of time, such as the credibility of the past and the reality of the present and the possible futures.

The School of Time research will also be presented as part of the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial.
