Deniz Ova, Istanbul Design Biennial Director, will give a keynote speech titled "The Istanbul Design Biennial as a platform of empathy" on Thursday, 28 February at the Plan D. conference, which will take place in Zagreb, Croatia.

Since its inception the Istanbul Design Biennial has been an active platform that promotes collaborative practices and critical thought, bringing them and more together under the notion of empathy. In a time where the future of the whole planet is debated, the biennial does not refrain from getting involved in the discussion and manifests as a vibrant ecosystem of fruitful reflection. This lecture by Deniz Ova will explain the founding principles of Istanbul Design Biennial, as well as its aspirations for the future.
